Well done to our awesome Wairua Warriors who have just completed the Spartan race in Melbourne. All the training paid off and our crew will return triumphant from Australia and just to prove it’s all about teamwork they came in 6th place overall in the teams section.
One of the questions that our amazing team members might be asking themselves is “What Now?”
It’s one of the most frequently asked questions in fitness. What happens after you’ve reached your goal. Well the answer is to make another one. Sure you can cross one thing off the list, but always make sure you have something to aim for; and that, my friends, brings me back to the importance of bite sized chunks.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re training for a marathon, an obstacle race or a sprint be sure to mark milestones along the way. Our short term goals are always the substance behind our long term goals, it’s what keeps us motivated and grounded.
My number one tip for setting your long term fitness goal, is to write it down. Writing a goal down will keep you accountable. Next step, share it with somebody else, then you’ve really committed.
Now you’ve set the long-term goal focus on the steps you need to take to get there, set your milestones and cross them off as you complete them… There’s always something to aim for!
